So I got to see the Nurse who was qualified to see me..... in the end she wasn't qualified to make a diagnosis. Therefore I have to go back before work on Saturday to see a real doctor.
In any case, she thinks its not an ear infection but a viral infection of the sinus area. Lovely. So I must persevere with this pain even longer.
On a plus, the nurse said I had the cleanest ears she had ever seen!
