Glad tidings.

Glad to be out of work and away from grown men who don't know their shoe size, women who storm out because they can't take photos and teenage boys who walk round with their hands in their tracky bottoms.
Time for a Christmas Eve snooze, some pizzas and beers and movies later then a fun time day tomorrow.

Tuesday 21 December 2010

Fossil Fuels and all that crap.

Dear Tenant
In this cold weather that we are having at the moment please make sure that your boiler is left on constant 15+ degrees otherwise the boiler will freeze and burst pipes may happen. Please also bare this in mind if you are planning to go away over the Christmas period.
Kind regards

... Just got this email from our Estate Agents... fair enough you don't need a burst pipe but are you going to pay our gas bill? No, thought not. And when we had dry rot and woodworms were you quick to resolve this? No, again, I thought not.....
I want a burst pipe now just to spite them

Sunday 19 December 2010

Christmas preparations.

I've just busted out my Rainbow Brite duvet cover ready for Joe's brother's Christmas arrival this Wednesday. Sadly he does not have a bed to sleep in but he has a great bit of floor to lay on. Last year it actually looked pretty snuggly and nice! And with a Rainbow Brite duvet it can only get that little bit better!
I'm quite excited for Christmas Day now! We did our food shop this morning and the house is pretty much clean and tidy.
Toot toot!

Saturday 18 December 2010

Worn out.

I'm feeling pretty frazzled right now.
The work Christmas Do was really good fun. I work with a great bunch of people, most of which ren't ashamed to throw a lot of alcohol down their throats and make idiots of themselves on the dance floor.... me included.
But since then its been work, ear infection, more drinks with friends, work work and work!
I've got a Christmassy day planned with my sister in law and nephews... grottos, carousels, the works!
But I just want to sleep.

Thursday 9 December 2010

Old man grouchie.

That's me. I feel quite grumpy to say the least and nothing's really happened to cause it.
Maybe it's because I've been in my home town today and I don't have fond feelings for it (to say the least) and nothing seems to have changed either. Or maybe its because I have the work Christmas "do" on Saturday and the prospect of being in town on a Saturday night in the ice and the thought of going to a nightclub........ shudder! The thought of being in a place surrounded by strangers freaks me out. Its all too much for me if I'm honest. I want to be near the people I like and nowhere near people I don't know. I don't mind meeting new people really but in the right environment. I don't want to talk to strangers who are drunk and annoying.
On a plus I went for tea at my brother's tonight (the reason for the trip to the hometown) and got to see my nephews which was a treat.

Saturday 4 December 2010

Fantasia.

My fiancee is going away tomorrow for five days and to keep me from being lonesome he bought me Fantasia bluray with the original and the 2000 edition. I'm going to watch them both AND all the bonus feature because...... you know I love Mickey Mouse!

Thursday 2 December 2010

Snow walks.

Some cute stepping stones.
Picnic tables... only suitable for Polar Bears.
Frozen boating lake....

Me getting snowed on so much it turned my beret yellow!

Watch this snowy space.

I'm just about to head out to play in the snow.
Gos bless days off.

Wednesday 1 December 2010

Death by snow.

I knew I would need to walk to work today when it snowed from 5pm last night and never stopped!
I got up early, put as many clothes on as I could, gave up on make up. (I'm glad I did cos loads of people had panda eyes!)
Here I am getting ready to set off with my big yellow hat and flask of tea (flask courtesy of Charley's Mum!)
It took me an hour and a half and when I got there Starbucks was closed! Boo hoo!

Monday 29 November 2010

Winter walks.

I awoke this morning at 8am. Joe had already left early for work and I was all alone.
I climbed onto the chair in the window and looked out and the world was covered in snow! It was a veritable blizzard! I was super excited but also a little sad. My brother and two youngest nephews were going to come over and play but I didn't want my brother driving in his silly James Bond car so text to cancel! (good job because he said it took him an hour to do the usually 20 minutes school run for my older nephew!)
So, with my day of playing canceled and Joe not here to play either I decided to go for a walk. Sadly by the time I was ready it was now longer snowing but the paths were a crunchy snowy delight to walk on!
I dressed up at snuggly as I could and set off on my journey. I walked through General Cemetery, one of my most favourite places to go in Sheffield. It was beautiful. I walked right up to the mausoleum and looked at all the huge monuments all covered in snow. I did the splits too walking down the hill! Luckily I didn't fully fall over and there was no one to see me!
I think my poor old legs were the coldest they have ever been!
I had a coffee and did a spot of Christmas shopping but the charity shops were rather fruitless today. I only got a little pot cat for 25p.
Now I'm trying to be warm in my house but it's not going so great!

Sunday 28 November 2010

Smile! It's only snow!

The magic of snow.

I'm pretty devastated that there has been no snow in the night! The naughty BBC told me it would snow aaaaaaallllllll night long and I was hoping to go for a nice walk in it but its just the frozen icy leftovers of yesterday!
Speaking of icy leftovers my neighbours woke me up at 7am by rolling their babies pram backwards and forwards over crunchy ice! Thanks guys! NOT!
I did get soem stuff done though such as writing out my Christmas Cards! Now I feel super duper organised!

Friday 26 November 2010

Comfort Food.

My friend came for tea last night and I made homemade Homity Pie.
Without tooting my own horn it was really tasty! Perfect comfort food for snow warnings and cold cold nights!
We put the heating on, ate lots of chocolates, drank hot chocolate with a smidge of Baileys and watch Toy Story 3 followed by UP..... Earlier that day I wrapped my Mum's Christmas presents and packed her parcel to send over to Australia.... I think I just had my first Christmassy time!

Thursday 25 November 2010

Come On Snow!

Come On Snow! Come On Snow! Come On Snow!
They (those weather people) keep saying snow snow snow but WHERE IS IT!?
There was the smallest smidgen last night but not nearly enough!
I WANT SNOW!

Wednesday 24 November 2010

Spleen.

So angry.
So very very angry.
So angry I feel like my blood is boiling, my chest is shrinking and my head is going to blow up and my brain will fly everywhere and be like the inside of a pumpkin.
Just being near people today was a mission. Answering their stupid questions and listening to crap I don't care about and their tedious lives.
On and on and on and on.
I'd love to just scream in their faces SHUT UP! NO ONE CARES! LEAVE ME ALONE!

Sunday 21 November 2010

Bridezilla....

Today I've been emailing places about post wedding meals. I just want to get it all booked so I cn focus on fun stuff and starving myself and getting a face transplant so I can look like this lady.

Monday 15 November 2010

Look at this face.

It needs more vegetables in its life.
Under the harsh shop lights where I work it is dry and blotchy and spotty and plain gross. Even lovely LUSH face masks have not helped.
Today I got my 5 a day.... bring on tomorrow!

Thursday 11 November 2010

Growing Up.

Wow! I just realised that we are growing up! I just spoke to my lovely Mum on the phone, all teh way from Australia, and we were talking about the wedding. How grown up.
My friends are getting married, having babies (and cats)... it's crazy. It doesn't seem two minutes since we were drinking £1 pints of Fosters and dodging lectures. Now we're slaves to the working world and doing things like getting married.
This lovely pair are my inspiration for Joe and I.

Sunday 7 November 2010

I Love Being Veggie!

I had a horrid dream last night that I was eating meat! It was gross! It was a sausage but it had all grisly nuggets in it. Bleugh! I hated it! It makes me want to go to Heeley City Farm (again!!!! It's my most favourite place!) and et their tasty vegetarian food! This tasty treat was broccolli cheese.

Saturday 30 October 2010

Great finds....

During my week off I found these super little fellows along the way.
The guy on the left was £3 from Barmouth Antique Centre (where my engagement ring is also from!). He is a very handy scissor holder with a cheeky little tape measure hidden in his bottom.
The guy on the right was 75p from St Luke's Hospice shop and is a wooden pen holder (he has a box at the back) and still has his "made in Germany" sticker on the back.
Great little pals who are useful to boot!

Friday 29 October 2010

From pumpkin to pie.

I've been having a smashing week off and it's getting to the end of the week when I think "I don't want to go back to work" :( But Alas! back I must go so I should suck it up and get on with my week.
Today I carved my pumpkin ready for Hallowe'en weekend! I've gone for a traditional Jack-o-lantern face with a cheeky lil' wink. And with the poor guys inners I made chilli roasted seeds which are yummy and potato and pumpkin pie. It's tastiest EVER!
I roasted the pumpkin with whole cloves of garlic and salt and pepper. Then I mixed it into tasty mashed potato and sealed in shortcrust pastry.... Oh yes... and of course I poked little chunks of cheddar into the mixture to create gooey pools of cheese. I had a slice for my lunch and was very pleased with the results!
Other fun stuff I have done this week includes my brother, sister-in-law and three brilliant nephews coming over to play. It was a rainy day outside so we couldn't play at the park so we had lunch and played with toys with the little 'uns and the eldest played Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmares for hours!
I also went to see Despicable Me with a group of friends. It is a very good kids film... I am a fan of kids film because I have never grown up and hope I never will.
I had lunch at Heeley City Farm (again!) with my lovely fiance (we love that place!) and saw all the lovely animals (I really really want some Guinea Pigs).
Last night I went for tea at my oldest buddies. We watched Snow Dogs (has all the things to make a great film... Cuba Gooding Junior... Huskies... Sisqo.... but was very odd!) and talked weddings and babies (not my baby! A friend is pregnant!) then went out for wine and dancing. It was supposed to be 70s/80s/90s at the hideous Leadmill (worst club ever) but when we got there they were playing Cheryl Cole and Justin Beiber! Yick! We had a dance when some older stuff came on then were home for 2 am.
Today has been a pyjama day with pumpkin making and nice long snooze as tomorrow is the "quality over quantity" Hallowe'en party with lots of horror film and snacks!
Hip hip hooray!

Monday 25 October 2010

Happy Hallowe'en!

It's that time of year again! HALLOWE'EN! Yaaaaay!
I love Hallowe'en and always have. As a child I was painfully shy. I didn't like strangers. I didn't like people to look at me. I didn't like to leave my Mum and Dad's sides.......Except on Hallowe'en! I loved, for some reason, dressing up all scary. I loved bobbing for apples. I loved carving pumpkins. And I still do!
I looked forward to it with the same level of excitement s I did Christmas.... and you don't even get presents at Hallowe'en! My Dad would take me and my brother and all our neighbours out Trick or Treating. We'd all dress up and have those horrid stinky masks and a pumpkin. He'd call us the blackhand gang and take us to people we knew in the neighbourhood (I think trick or treating strangers is a bit weird!) who would give us 50p or little sweets.
After this we'd go back home and my Mum would have made food and we'd have a little Hallowe'en party! It was the most fun!
So this year, the same as last year, I have booked the whole week off work to fully appreciate the Autumnal goodness. I will carve my pumpkin early and make some tasty food with it! I will wear my new Hallwe'en brooch all week! I will watch lots of horror films!
A pre-cursor to Hallowe'en that I feel I should mention (and linking directly to my picture above) I went to a horror film festival at the weekend that was excellent and highly recommended.
http://www.celluloidscreams.co.uk/ Go here for details about the festival (which sadly you'll have missed but you can go next year!) and other events that are on throughout the year which I promise to make more of an effort to attend! (The films are always on late on a Friday and I have to get up early on Saturday. Plus, I'm a big baby that needs its sleep!)
Coming to the picture..... This is a still from City of the Living Dead staring Catriona MacColl. the film was shown on Saturday night at the festival and was followed by a Q&A with the star! It was amazing to see this film on the big screen surrounded by the audience and was a totally different experience to watching it at home! Catriona MacColl was very gracious and insightful with lots to say about the film, the genre and the era.
Most of those that attended the festival were really lovely friendly people and it was nice to go somewhere where you have a shared interest and can just have a chat to a total stranger.
What a good start to my Hallowe'en week!

Friday 15 October 2010

Festive progress.

I feel quite proud of myself this year as I am storming ahead with my Christmas shopping and think it will be mostly done by the end of November so I can spend December drinking Baileys and eating cheese boards!
However.... I REALLY WANT THIS BARBIE! Its Super Style Barbie and I got her when I was a wee 'un and loved her so. NOw she is gone from my life I must find her again. This could hinder my Christmas fund and time spent looking for presents.

Sunday 10 October 2010

10.10.10

It's been 8 years today and it doesn't get any easier. I still miss my Dad so much and would like to see my family today but the best I've managed so far is text messaging.

Friday 1 October 2010

What a wild week!

By this cutie pie little picture I'm sure you guessed why the week's been so wild!
On Tuesday, whilst wrestling around in big boxes of wellies at work, my boyfriend phoned me and asked if I wanted to go out for tea.... I said yes thinking he meant the pub or something.
I carried on wrestling shoes and such when he called back and said he'd booked us a table at BBs ( a lovely Italian in Sheffield ). I was so disgusting from my battles with shoes I said I couldn't go as I needed to have a shower and change out of my hideous gardenning/ housework garb that I'd worn for the purpose of shoe wrestling. He seemed so disappointed and I felt so guilty! I also felt bad tht he had to cancel the table and take trade away from BBs! But I said if he booked in at Bella Napoli ( another fine Italian restaurant but nearer to our house) for a little bit later I could shower and stuff and then we could have a nice tea.... so that is what he did.
I met my friend Rachel for a quick iced tea and said I had to dash as we were going out for tea and Joe was being slightly odd (bearing in mind we have NEVER booked a table for just the two of us in our three years together!).
So I went home, had a shower, spruced up a little and we went and had a cheeky drink in the local pub on the way to Bella Napoli. We had a lovely meal and Joe was insistent that I had dessert but I was so stuffed I said I didn't think I could! He kept saying I should so I ordered Tirimisu ( if anyone gets chance to go here you should have this dessert because it ROCKS!!! I've had it a few times and it gets better every time!).... back to the story!
The Tirimisu arrived and I began eating the mountain of whipped cream on top and as I did Joe slid out of his seat and got on his knees! The whole room went fuzzy and I didn't know if he was messing about so was just laughing quite alot throughout his proposal! But I did say yes and the waitress ran over with some little cups of Amaretto and the restaurant owner came over to see us and congratulate us!
He had bought me a ring from the antique centre near our house and it was a perfect fit and beautiful too! So it was a wonderful surprise and even more so when we got in he had a bottle of champagne hidden in the fridge! Even though we were stuffed with food and wine we toasted with champagne and phoned our families!
Joe's Mum thought something terrible had happened because he never phones her, my Mum thought I was pregnant and my brother just laughed hysterically! Pfft!
Now we have to begin the planning... the saving.... the hard bit! I'm useless at organising anything so this will prove to be an interesting process!
Thanks for reading!

Saturday 25 September 2010

This is how excited I am for Christmas...

I just bought this little tyke from America! Eeeeeep!
It was a mail Order onlt pony and really hard to find in the UK. I have the dult one and can't wait to display them together at Christmas! Yay! Now I just have to keep my fingers crossed I don;t get a customs charge!

Tuesday 21 September 2010

Tea.

I stole this picture off of the world wide web (http://www.lemonpencil.com/2008/05/12/cute-tea-cup-felt-plushies/) because they are just the cutest ever! Oh, and I looooooove tea!

I woke up early from a fitful sleep of worrying about work... I hate it when that happens! There just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day to get everything done and however much I love days off there's still that niggling worry of what I could get done if I were to just go into work. Then there's my first mangers' meeting tomorrow in the far away land of Newcastle. Worry worry worry.....Anyway! As I was saying! I got up early and walked to the supermarket to buy milk so I can have a cup of tea! Hooray! Tea makes it better!

I'm going to Heeley City Farm in a few hours too with my brother and two of my nephews so that will be a nice respite from worries too.

Tuesday 14 September 2010

It's been far too long...

.... I've been silent for a while.
I'd like to say it's because I've been off gallivanting or doing something fun or productive but it's more a case of me doing nothing and having nothing to say for myself.
I'm hoping fun stuff wills tart happening and I will have lots of fun stuff to put on here because..........
IT'S AUTUMN!!!!
It's still a bit warm for my tastes but sommer is definitely oooooooover! I got my coat last week for £8 from Marie Curie and some boots from work on my discount so I'm all set for winter! (well, I would be but my boots hurt my poor little feets:( )
I'm excited to see my pal Charley on my day off! It's been ages since we saw one another (sober) so hopefully we can have autumn fun and it wont chuck it down like it did today!
I like this picture because...
a) I like hedgehogs
b) they sleep all autumn
c) I like to sleep
d) it's lovely!

Tuesday 24 August 2010

Tea Party = Yum Party.

The lovely table settings and tasty pile of scones!
Lots of Champagne and vintage champagne glasses.

Enjoying our civilised tea party!
...it became less civilised after the nice lady took the tea party away and Jo got out the jugs of Sailor Jerry.....

Sunday 22 August 2010

Does my haed look fat in this?

I appear to have a very large face or maybe it's because the half pint glass is making it look out of proportion.....

Friday 20 August 2010

Please can I be...

... Edwidge Fenech?

Sunday 15 August 2010

I be drinkin' alot o' tea Maam.

On my day off this week I went for a jaunt into the Peak District with my friends, Rachel and Emma. I was lovely and civilised. We had lunch at The Innkeeper's Lodge in Castleton, a tasty goat's cheese and cashew wellington with mash, carrots and green beans, then on to Hathersage to Cintra's for coffee and cake. I wanted a cream tea but when I saw all other cakes I crumbled and had a delightful slice of date and walnut with a coffee.
The food at both places was delicious but I must say the service at Cintra's was pretty dire. The lady who took our order could not have been any less enthusiastic to talk to us and when my friend asked if they served decaf it felt like she had asked for slice of human skin with a side portion of hair! Grumpy! But the cake was good and at a good price for a tourist trap!
We went to see the ducks in Castleton and walked up to the Devil's Arse too but didn't venture in.
Tomorrow, to make up for my lack of Cream Tea in the week, I am going to my friends Jo's birthday party which is courtesy of http://www.sugarjunction.co.uk/ . I am quite looking forward to this though worry it will be strange having people I don't know serve me tea! It looks rather decadent though!
How grown up are we having day time tea parties instead of going out and getting really really drunk!?

Friday 13 August 2010

Billiard the rabbit.

When we were small 'uns my Dad used to tell us stories about Billiard the Rabbit. He'd tell us about all sorts of mischief he'd get up to and the big park he lived in with all his friends.

Saturday 7 August 2010

There's Magic in the Memories.

I'm just settling down to watch The Cat From Outer Space. I've got a hideous cold and have spent a hideous day at work and need some niceness in my day.
What can be nicer than a 1978 film about a super cute space cat making an unscheduled landing on Earth? Not alot is what I say! I think Haylee will really enjoy this film..... she loves TV animals!
I'll let you all know my opinion of the film when I've watched it!

Monday 2 August 2010

Curtain twitcher.

We've got new neighbours.... I spy on them..... nothing to report.....

Friday 30 July 2010

I feel blue.

I'm sitting in my dressing room looking out at the rain and it always gets me a touch melancholy. I feel all squiffy inside like I've had the air let out of me or something. I think it's because I'm over summer... there you go... I've dared say it... I'M OVER SUMMER.
I'm ready for Autumn. I want to wear tights and shoes and berets. I want to eat baked potatoes and soup. I want to go for a a quiet walk through fallen leaves and drink a hot coffee.
I'm fed up of humid sticky days when it's not sunny but its still too hot to do anything nice. I don't want to do summery things like frollick in the park or eat ice creams or wear sandals. I want it to be dark and to have a hot bubble bath and watch a Zombie film in the dark.

I want conkers.
I want toffee apples.
I want steam to come out of my mouth.
I want jumpers.
I want welly boots.
I want Hallowe'en.
I want golden leaves.
I want I want I want!

Thursday 29 July 2010

The Lovely Lads.

Here are the lovely boy ponies. Wig Wam, Tracks, Salty, Ice Crystal and Tornado.
My Dad got me Tornado when I was small and I loved him so... but when my Mum moved to Australia and I lived in Student house in all its cramped glory he got sold on ebay (I hope to a nice collector's home). I've been watching him for years on ebay but he's always out of my price range. But then! I was at my lovely friend Charley's house, full of tasty Tacos and incoherent with Sailor Jerry when I saw him! My little sob story came out and she gave him to me! I LOVE HIM! But it is now my mission to find a worthy treat to fill the hole he has left in her life!
I have to say though... he's really been enjoying himself here with the other boy ponies. They live together in my dressing room all stood in a line.
I only hope my collection of boy ponies continues to grow!

Wednesday 21 July 2010

I once was an Ugly Duckling....

....and I still am! Boohoo!
Anyway, here I am with the cutie pie ducklings at Hardwick Hall last week. I loved those little guys!
My birthday still feels like it is going on, like I'm the queen or something! Today I treated myself to some Irregular Choice shoes at work. I've had my beady eyes on them for about three months and someone bought a pair today and I panicked that they would all go so bought the last pair in my size! They are beautiful American flag heels. Very Wonder Woman! I'm going to see Toy Story 3 in 3D on Friday so will wear them then! I also treated myself to some Benefit perfume and still have some pennies left for another present for me! Yay!
I'm going to my friend's for tea tomorrow too as our birthdays are only four days apart so that will be another celebration!
Wow... it's nice to be in a good mood and not hate on everything for a change.

Sunday 18 July 2010

Another year older.

Well, the birthday is over. I'm 27. I have to go back to work tomorrow and I have some sort of cold..... That's not to say I've not had a spiffing week!
Monday - Went to Doncaster to see my lovely family. Brother, sister-in-law, 3 nephews and Grannybasher. Had a lovely tea (my brother is a very good vegetarian chef!) and a Disney Princess cake. Found out oldest nephew got top scores on his SATs which makes me proud and glad he will be in top sets when he goes up to big school in September! Played Mr Potato Head with my middle nephew and gave my tiny nephew his bedtime bottle and had a nice cuddle.
Tuesday - (Sorry Mum if you read this before I talk to you.....) I got a tattoo! It's beautiful. I wont be sharing a picture on the world wide web as I'm very protective of my tattoos. I will however completely recommend Feline Tattoo Studio, in particular Gavin, who has done three wonderful pieces of work over the past 5 years (ish).
Wednesday - This was our nothing day! My tattoo was all sore so we had a mini gym session then sat and watched Weeds (highly recommended) AAAAAALL DAAAAAY LOOOONG!
Thursday - Went to Chesterfield Flea Market then to Hardwick Inn with Joe's Dad (who has the same birthday as me!) and Joe's Grandma. I had an amzing vegetable and goat's cheese bake with MORE veg and potatoes. It was the tastiest ever! Really nice food in a nice old place.... served by scally young girls who all looked like they were doing their work experience! Then we had a walk around the pond and saw some young ducklings with their mummy! They all ran to us thinking we had food but, alas, we didnot! Thursday evening I met up with my work colleagues (minus a few who couldn't make it). We went for £5 pizzas at ViVi's on Ecclesall Road and they surprised me with a Fancie cupcake with a candle! Then we went and had lots of yummy beverages in the horrid but cheap Nursery Tavern and the lovely but expensive Porter Cottage.
When we got in that night, Haylee gave me her present.... Shrek Kinder Eggs!
Friday BIRTHDAY DAY! - Woke up early with a thirst of a thousand deserts courtesy of gin and lemonade. Then it was present time! Joe did goooooood! Toy Story 3 Barbie and Ken, Mickey Mouse Disney Couture necklace, Princess and the Frog Bluray, Mario 64 for my DS (must really finish Zelda!), a box of ponies! (A Brush'n'Grow, 2 Big Brother ponies, a Roller Skating pony and a Rainbow Curl pony) and an Irregulr choice handbag that goes with my lovely lovely shoes! I also got a Mrs potato head, a scary lady brooch and Toy Story sweet from Rachel my oldest buddy. Work got me a cat brooch and flower earrings. There were also lots of cat related cards!
Joe then made me a full English Veggie breakfast and presented me with a yummy looking chocolate cake (still untouched!) and we went to see Inception..... veryu good but alot to comprehend with a little hangover!
Saturday - Had a jaunt into town searching for a new hairdryer as mine smells like fire.... didn't get one so ordered one on the internet. I have grown to love my current one after our 9 years together..... non compare to it :(
Saturday afternoon was spent at my friends' house having a joint birthday celebration which is becoming a yearly tradition!
Sunday - HOORAY! One day until I go back to work and I'M ILL!!!! YAY! Ugh. I feel hideous. Stinging eyes, stuffy nose, banging headache, incredibly tired. Boohoo. Please don't make me go back to work!
Thanks for reading my boring week!

Thursday 1 July 2010

Summer Sausage.

Here is Haylee enjoying a little bit of sunshine with her friend, Walter.

Sunday 27 June 2010

I laugh in the face of football.

In celebration of England's speedy exit from the 2010 World Cup I would just like to say I am relieved that I no longer have to bear drunk losers during the day coming in my shop and abusing me. I no longer have to bear the sight of middle aged women who would never EVER watch a football match normally wearing some hideously tight St George's cross attire with a crude slogan such as "Nice Balls" emblazened across their sagging chests. Gone will be "England" Cup Cakes and Gingerbread men and stupid plastic flags that only serve to f&**k up the environment that little bit more. I might get a seat in a pub. Kids with bad hair cuts might shut the hell up. People might stop crying over sports.
Probably not though.
And there's no use telling people there are other things happening and that there is no need to get so upset because that would be the ultimate insult...........

Summertime.

Today I would like another Starbucks Frappucino..... I used to work there so I know how bad for you they are but they're just so yummy. Maybe its all the sugar? Mmmmmmmm Sugar.

Friday 25 June 2010

My Garden.

This is the third summer in my house and finally my garden has provided me with something lovely! The first year I tried veggies and all I got were two teeny weeny carrots, a few peas and loads of hungry slugs. The second year all I got were weeds. This year its a colourful flower haven and I cut a few for my house!

Monday 21 June 2010

Blackpool Fool.

Today I was given the sad news that Chris Sievey, the creator of Frank Sidebottom, had died. This character had provided much amusement for me and I hope other people too. I remember him on the telly from when I was a child (and we all know I love things from when I was a child!) and found him funny then. His humour was sheer sillyness! Or "daft" as my Dad would have said. There's nothinmg funnier than a frown man behaving like a child... dressing in his best football kit and going to the shops for his mam.
This picture (above) of me was taken many years ago when I went to Manchester and Blackpool for thew weekend with some friends. We hd a great time and I loved this mosaic at Afflecks Palace (which I have been told has been removed now.... which is rubbish!)

I went to see Frank Sidebottom the first Valentine's Day my boyfriend and I celebrated together. It was very funny, had a wonderful atmosphere and I got my photograph taken with him and my friend Nick who won a cardboard puppet of Little Frank! That night I purchased a Frank Sidebottom T-shirt which will be forever cherished and I still have the poster from the night in a frame in my room.
I think its time I got out my Zoo Scrapbook.............

Tuesday 15 June 2010

Who am I to stand in the way of a little mold?

This week I had a cheeky ebay treat and it arrived today. Two My Little Pony bags to add to my collection. The seller failed to mention that one of them had dried on mold on the back..... Hey ho. It's still a Pony bag, right?

I'm such a failure I can't even suprise someone...

... Yesterday was my brother's surprise 30th birthday barbeque... I got lost and missed the surprise bit! Duh! Me and Joe walked around for an hour trying to use google map on Joe's Iphone and in the end rang my brother's house... he had already got to the party! So after baking in the sun we downed a can of lager (probably not the best form of re-hydration) and sat in the sun for a few hours. I didn't sample the treats from the grill as I am veggie and there wasn't much for us and also communal eating freaks me out a bit! I had some cucumber then ate my birthday cake on the train home! It was tasty birthday cake. Chocolate sponge iced with cars! What a boy! I would have My Little Ponies on mine.....

Week of hatred.

Sometimes everything is such hard work. It's most annoying when the things that are such hard work are actually the most simple tasks.... Such as answering the phone...... but to morons.
"Do you sell surgical stockings?"
"No."
"Oh. You don't?"
"No."
"Who does?"
"Try Boots."
"Boots? Have you got their number?"
..... Funnily enough No I don't have Boots' number to hand. Why don't you get it from the same place you got my number? Idiot.

Now, where's that cat?

This week Haylee has been very naughty. Creeping, hiding, jumping into the neighbour's garden for a good old sniff. Terror.

News.

... No news! It was just a damned questionnaire.. now I have to wait for a response from that.

Wednesday 19 May 2010

Trying to occupy myself.

I'm awaiting some very life-changing information at 8.40am tomorrow. A simple yes or no. Therefore today I must occupy myself as I am quite nervous about it.
The same sort of nervous you got as a child when you had to go to the dentist. Or the nervousness when your Area Manager is due a visit.... The sort of nervousness that if the results are good you'll be so so so so so happy but if they are bad it is soul-destroying.
Things I can do today :
Drink tea.
The gym.
Charity shops.
Cinema.

Summer dayzzzzzzzzz.

Roll on summer days and drinking ice cold lemonade from my new Snoopy jug.

Angel Cat.

I love my Haylee. I'm going to go find her now and tickle her face.

Sunday 9 May 2010

I make friends with cats...

.... and they make friends with me. This little fella showed me his tummy and I gave it a tickle.

Monday 3 May 2010

The early bird doesn't necessarily catch the worm.

I'm getting quite good at getting up before my alarm. So much so that I am ready 30 minutes before I need to set off. And where, may I ask, does that get me!? Nowhere! I may as well get up and get there early...... but where's the fun in that?

Pigs...

Much better alive than spinning round on a skewer.
